Cinema Scandinave is a hommage to French jazz composed by Danish Hasse Poulsen, who since ten years has been living in Paris.
The music is very inspired by especially the music of Louis Sclavis – though no compositions of his are being played – and in general the sort of jazz that has given France a distincitve voice in the music world.
The sextet making up Cinema Scandinave brings together musicians fram Denmark, Norway and Sweden, and these are all very special and talented musicians.
Anders Banke is probably the most demanded reedplayer in Danish jazz these days. He plays everything from classical jaz, to litteral classical music, pop, experimental, he is capable of anything.
Torben Snekkestad is a sought after virtuoso in the contemporary classical world. He is an astonishing master of the saxophone, with as a bonus and astonishing tone in his jazz-playing.

John Ehde also comes from the world of contemporary music, where he has played for twenty years with the renowned LIN-Ensemble as well as other first rate ensembles. He is a precise and original improvisor. http://ehde.dk
Lars Andreas Haug is a thoroughly swinging – no limit virtuoso on the tube. One of a kind.
